FFA DSP Controllers

The FFA DSP Controllers series brings third-generation digital signal processing to professional audio systems. Built around the latest ESS AD/DA converter chipsets, the F48X Matrix DSP and IF48X deliver enhanced dynamic range, reduced THD+N, and comprehensive remote control flexibility through Fatware software for PC, Mac, and iPad. Hand constructed and designed in England, both units share identical DSP processing power and audio specifications, with the IF48X optimised for permanent installation applications.

Analogue and AES/EBU I/O

Inputs and outputs are switchable in channel pairs between analogue or AES/EBU, giving full flexibility to integrate into any system architecture.

Mac, Windows and iPad Control

Fatware Ethernet-based control software provides full DSP control, routing, and preset management across multiple units simultaneously, with offline system design capability.

Comprehensive DSP Processing in Every Unit

Every FFA DSP Controller delivers the same extensive signal processing capability across inputs and outputs. From multi-band EQ and compression on every input to FIR filtering and PXL limiting on every output, the F48X and IF48X provide the tools required for professional system optimisation in any application.

Input Processing

8 bands of parametric EQ, 28-band graphic EQ, 3 bands of dynamic EQ, soft-knee compressor, 24dB/oct high-pass filter, and up to 1.3 seconds of delay on every input channel.

Flexible Routing Matrix

Full mix-matrix mode, free-routing, and pre-configured routing options including 2x4, 4x2, 1x8, and 2x3+2. Flexible channel linking for crossover and custom configurations.

Output Processing and FIR

16 bands of parametric EQ, crossover filters up to 48dB/oct (Butterworth/Bessel/Linkwitz-Riley), FIR filtering up to 1024 taps, and up to 1.3 seconds of delay per output.

Predictive Excursion Limiter

PXL algorithm on every output channel provides best-in-class driver protection with the lowest distortion, allowing systems to be driven at high levels safely and reliably.

Ethernet and USB-C Control

Dual Ethernet port switch in every unit enables daisy chaining or star routing. USB-C front panel connection with Ethernet bridging allows control of the entire network from any device.

Preset Management

Up to 30 presets stored for online recall. Front panel access to all commonly used parameters and instant mute of any input or output. Offline system design and preset library management via Fatware.
